What this involves
Some pieces should not be fixed to the wall. Dining tables, benches, freestanding cupboards and sideboards made to a length that suits the room, in timber that can be repaired in ten years. We agree the size, the timber and the finish, then make the piece and deliver it.
A table that has to be a specific length, or a piece of furniture you want made rather than altered.
Tables and benches
Dining and kitchen tables, and benches sized to the table rather than bought as a set that does not fit.
Freestanding storage
Cupboards and shelves that can move with you, still made to a height and width you choose.
One-off pieces
A piece for a particular spot: under a window, at the end of a bed, beside a fireplace.
Finish
Oil, lacquer or paint. The quote says which, and how to look after it.

Questions
Do you make furniture for homes in Kirkintilloch?
Yes. We measure the room in Kirkintilloch if the piece has to fit a gap, then make it and bring it back.
How is this different from fitted joinery?
Fitted joinery is scribed to the building and stays there. Furniture is made to a size and can be moved. If it has to touch the walls all round, it is fitted work.
Which timbers do you use?
Oak is the usual choice. Ash, walnut and painted timber are available. We will not specify a rare timber for the sake of it.
Can you repair a piece as well as make one?
Small timber repairs, yes, if the piece is worth it. Send a photo. If it needs a specialist polisher or upholsterer, we will say so.
